239 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "Microphone Scratching"

Recorded with my zoom h4n at a festival.

You guys are probably wondering why i haven't been posting many sounds for the last month well number one so i can upload a lot of sounds at once and two i have been pretty busy with track and play practice. So now here is a bunch of sounds that were created by me either covering up or bumping my mic which i hope you will enjoy.

This file was recorded on november 19 2013 at london's euston railway station quite close to the arrivals board. It was achieved using an olympus ls-100 digital recorder with cad m179 microphones attached to a jecklin disk (see wikipedia) to obtain the best sound possible. As opposed to quasi-binaural recordings where the user attaches small diaphragm microphones to his/her shirt collar (my usual recording method), the jecklin disk can be mounted on a semi-fixed object such as a floor-standing microphone stand which it was in this case, and left for a few moments for the best possible outcome. Using a jecklin disk means that there are no minute movements from a person trying to stand as still as possible, and for some unknown reason, this setup is able to differentiate in front and behind sound image although i personally do not know why this is the case.

A one minute sample that can be used as an ambient backround sound. A lot of hits, noise and a some other sounds. I made this sample in fl studio 12. Was recorded with "hd webcam c310".

Accidental unplug of mic during recording (i think - don't really remember the situation).

Stopped in a tiny museum in kansas and the curator turned on the 1900s edison photograph for me and let me record the classic humming, scratchy sound of a turntable turning. The steady rhythm had a very "bioshock infinite" feel to me, and i loved it. Nice to put under music to make it sound old. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in audacity. Production-now. Rode nt4 microphone compare signal-noise of phantom and battery power. Nt4, together with small electrical clock, in bed under all the pillows of the house. ;-). First 48v phantom-powersecond 9 v battery-power. Gear chain: rode nt4 with original xlr cord > sound devices 302 >tascam dr-100 mk2. My conclusion: the battery powered mic nt4 is 0. 5db more quiet. While trying to get my microphone to work, it was having this unusual feed back buzzing pulsing sounds. Along with a strange noise. (this wasn't my voice, and the file hasn't been edited. ). "who's there?" and the "hello's" are of course me, trying to get the microphone to work. I decided to record it after i felt it was strange. This sound was the result of a scary accident. I was looking at the view in the webcam of an open doorway leading into a dark hallway in my house, when suddenly this haunting feedback faded in and looped repeatedly, until i pulled the volume down. It was unexpected, and quite unnerving. I had to laugh about it once i realized what had happened. But that first moment had me expecting some ghostly apparition to come in from the darkness. Anyhow, it's just an accidental feedback loop. I've had it in my archives for about 20 years now. I thought it might be useful to someone else. Enjoy!.

His daily in an apartment in marseille. The stereo microphone (zoom h4) are in the kitchen and remain at a fixed point. This sound was made purely with audacity and my laptop microphone. I basically moaned into my microphone then used paulstretch with certain settings then slowed down the speed. It sounds like something adjusting or breaking far away. Feel free to use without credit.
